Never said animals have a consience i said do you blame the guy for going into shark infested waters then getting his leg bitten off. Do you blame the shark or do you blame man. Just like internet gamming, There are alot of scammers, grifters out there.

What im trying to say if you didnt get it so far is that shark = scammer.

Although, he could be comparing Online Gamers to sharks. We do have that whole "trust no one in case they stab you in the back and dance in your skin" mentality.

you gotta look at it from a different point of view :

it is just a game, but its the underlying morals that I think most people "for" this thread are trying to argue.

insults arent that bad, although totally uncalled for. as the person slinging the insults generally knows nothing about you, the insults are half assed or very run-of-the-mill.
(as a note, anyone who insults me in the game badly, gets it back 20 fold. so many poeple who have insulted me in-game have blocked me to stop the return insults

you never know, maybe he/she will think twice before insulting the next person)

Scamming someone, thieving, and misleading someone is low, VERY low. if you dont care what people think of you in-game, what about the other innocents in the game, who are viewed with suspicion, because of your devious acts? all for what? gold, an item, to skip a section of the game? this is where your own argument comes back at you ITS A GAME, if you dont want to play it how its supposed to be played (and scamming and stealing is NOT how its supposed to be played) you need to stop playing online games!

And while I agree with you in that the internet is a very volatile place, the point of this thread is saying that the internet shouldn't be. The ocean is full of sharks because they think that the hunters won't get rid of them.

And for where I stand on this issue, your online persona is a reflection of your RL character. I feel the same guilt in the game if I made a mistake in battle that cost the team a win then if I would have missed a jump shot at the end of a ball game at my local courts. When I help people out in game to get to the next area(without a "fee"), their gratitude makes me just as happy as helping a classmate through his studies. And if someone starts being a dick, and says stupid comments about people for no good reason, it offends me just as much in real life. Don't worry I know it's "just a game", and I don't take it too seriously, but someone who takes pleasure in the pain of others ingame should really ask themselves why they do it. There's enough of that crap in the real world, most of us come here to get away from all that.
